Is your team aware of your business strategy? Your goals? Are you sure? Why is this important?
For very small businesses (say, fewer than 5 employees) – which is where most businesses start – it’s not the most critical thing to clearly define, document, and communicate your strategy, because you and your entire team are generally talking every day. As you get bigger, though, making sure everyone is on the same page gets harder. Communicate your strategy and goals to your team often, and keep them updated on progress.
Beyond inspiration, why does it even matter? Growth. Your employees can’t take the right initiative, make the right deals, focus their creativity, etc., without your involvement. If you’re involved in some way with every decision, every action, every initiative, you’re suppressing the growth of your company.
