A few days ago I read a report that the Tulane University football coach — Curtis Johnson — would be fired after the last game of the season.
In other words, Tulane University reported to the world that the guy who was leading the football team would be fired in a few days.
Besides the obvious problem of continuing to employ a man in whom they’ve lost confidence to represent their school, they also created all kinds of interesting dynamics on the football team over those few days.
Here’s how it’s supposed to work: when you lose confidence in your coach, you fire him immediately. You do this for two reasons:
